Metropolitan Area Planning (MAP)

NYMTC has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with nine adjacent MPOs and councils of government (COGs) in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania to better coordinate planning activities in the multi-state metropolitan region. The other parties to the agreement include the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission in Pennsylvania, the Orange County Transportation Council in New York State, and the Western Connecticut Council of Governments, the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments, the Connecticut Metropolitan Council of Governments, the South Central Regional Council of Governments, the Capitol Region Council of Governments and the Lower Connecticut River Valley Council of Governments, all in Connecticut.

MOU

The MOU includes efforts toward achieving, wherever possible, general consistency and coordination of plans and programs through regular communication and information exchange, as well as  participation to the extent practicable in the transportation planning processes of the other MPOs and COGs.
