The Public Comment Period for the Conformity Determination Opens April 27th
The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) has prepared a draft Transportation Conformity Determination under the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. A thirty-one-day public comment period for the draft Transportation Conformity Determination will begin on Monday, April 27, 2026, and end at 4 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
This draft Transportation Conformity Determination ensures that transportation projects and programs in the proposed FFYs 2026-2030 TIP and the FFYs 2026-2055 Regional Transportation Plan, as amended, are consistent with the motor vehicle emissions budgets set by the New York State Implementation Plan for Air Quality in relation to relevant nonattainment and maintenance areas.
The draft Transportation Conformity Determination has been developed in accordance with relevant federal regulations (40 CFR 93 Subpart A).
