Public Comment Opens June 18th for Proposed Amendments to the TIP

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) announces a public comment period for proposed amendments to the Federal Fiscal Years 2023-2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The comment period begins on Wednesday June 18, 2025 and ends on Friday June 27, 2025. The comment period provides the opportunity for public feedback on the proposed changes to the TIP.

Public Comment Period for the draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for federal fiscal years (FFYs) 2026-2030 as well as a draft Transportation Conformity Determination, is now open from June 2 through July 1, 2025.

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) has prepared a draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for federal fiscal years (FFYs) 2026-2030 as well as a draft Transportation Conformity Determination under the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. The thirty-day public comment period for both products will run from Monday, June 2, 2025, through Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Draft FFYs 2026-2030 TIP

The draft FFYs 2026-2030 TIP lists the federally funded transportation improvement projects proposed for the NYMTC planning area over the TIP period. These improvements cover various transportation modes and facilities, including roadways and bridges, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transit equipment and services, safety improvements and demand management programs.

Transportation Conformity Determination

Draft Transportation Conformity Determination

The draft Transportation Conformity Determination ensures that transportation projects and programs in the proposed FFYs 2026-2030 TIP and the FFYs 2026-2055 Regional Transportation Plan are consistent with the motor vehicle emissions budgets set by the New York State Implementation Plan for Air Quality in relation to relevant nonattainment and maintenance areas. The draft Transportation Conformity Determination has been developed in accordance with relevant federal regulations (40 CFR 93 Subpart A).
