NYMTC Virtual Brown Bag Discussion:

September 11 Memorial Program Student Presentations

The September 11th Memorial Program for Regional Transportation Planning honors three NYMTC staff members who perished in the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001: Ignatius Adanga, Charles Lesperance, and See Wong Shum. The Program provides assistance to students and organizations for projects in both academic and public policy arenas as a way to educate and motivate those who are interested in transportation technology and planning.

Virtual presentations will be offered by two exceptional students, who served as NYMTC’s 2019-2020 September 11th Memorial Scholars, on Thursday, September 17 at 12:00 PM:

GabGabrielle O'Grady, graduate of the Master of Science in Sustainability in the Urban Environment program at the City College of New York, will discuss her work in developing the 2020 Mobility Management Resource Guide. This guide educates New Yorkers on existing transportation infrastructure, resources, and programs that cater to people with disabilities, older adults, people with limited English proficiency, and low-income populations.

Yaxin Zhang , a fourth year Ph.D. student at the Grove School of Engineering at the City College of New York, will discuss her research on methods for using real-time probe data to produce more accurate congestion analyses for the NYMTC planning area and for calculating performance measures for the transportation system.
