Meeting of NYMTC Council Principals to Adopt the Proposed Federal Fiscal Years (FFYs) 2020-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and Related Transportation Conformity Determination

NYMTC announces a meeting of the Council Principals on Thursday, September 5, 2019 to adopt the proposed FFYs 2020-2024 TIP, as well as the related Transportation Conformity Determination.

The proposed TIP is a comprehensive program of projects identified for federal funding under Title 23 U.S.C. and Title 49 U.S.C. Chapter 53. It also includes regionally-significant and locally-funded projects. The TIP is multi-modal and proposes $21.6 billion in funding, $11.6 billion of which is federal funding. The balance is comprised of state and local funding. After adoption by NYMTC, the TIP will be submitted for full inclusion in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) compiled by New York State.

The Transportation Conformity process is intended to ensure that motor vehicle emissions budgets established in the New York State Implementation Plan for Air Quality are not exceeded by the transportation investments which NYMTC has programmed in its TIP and in the fiscally-constrained portion of Plan 2045.

On September 5th, the Council will also act to amend NYMTC’s State Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Unified Planning Work Program to add the Southeast N.Y.-to-Danbury, CT. Link Feasibility/Planning Study.

The meeting will be available for remote participation and meeting agendas and resolutions will be posted on www.nymtc.org. Please use the EventBrite registration links below to RSVP for in-person attendance at the meeting.
