NYMTC Banner A Shared Vision for a Shared Future. NYMTC's Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) establishes a shared, long-term vision for the transportation network serving the New York metropolitan region — New York City, Long Island and the lower Hudson Valley. Updated every four years, the RTP sets its sights on the 25-year horizon ahead. Identifying and analyzing the longer-term transportation needs of the region, the RTP is the product of a continuing, cooperative and comprehensive intergovernmental planning process, and its approval by the NYMTC board is a core prerequisite for federal funding of these transportation priorities. We invite you to examine the draft 2010-2035 RTP document in detail and offer your input at upcoming public outreach forums, as we look forward to the adoption of the final RTP later this year.
