CR 46 Smith Point Bridge, Fire Island

Figures Su04-012-1 through -4 show CR-46 at the Smith Point Bridge. CR-46 is aligned north-south with one northbound lane and two southbound lanes. There is a wide shoulder on the west side of the southbound lanes that ends just north of Smith Point Bridge. The northbound lanes do not have a shoulder. There is a sidewalk on both sides of the roadway with a raised median separating northbound and southbound lanes. The Smith Point Bridge provides access to Fire Island, ending at an area between Smith Point County Park and the Fire Island National Wilderness Area. |
