Location N018 is the intersection of Merrick Road and Wantagh Avenue/Wantagh Parkway access ramp in Seaford. It is a signalized four-legged intersection. As shown in Figures N05-018-1 and -2, Merrick Road is a two-way east-west roadway with two through lanes, a left turn bay, and a channelized right turn lane on the west leg of the intersection. The east leg of the intersection has two through lanes and a channelized right turn lane. Wantagh Avenue, the north leg of the intersection, is a two-way north-south roadway. The southbound lanes on Wantagh Avenue consist of two left turn lanes and a channelized right turn lane, as shown in Figures N05-018-3 and -4. The northbound lanes on Wantagh Avenue consist of two travel lanes merging with a channelized right turn from Merrick Road. The northbound approach of Wantagh Parkway access ramp, the south leg of the intersection, provides two travel lanes and a channelized right turn lane. The Wantagh Parkway entrance ramp has one travel lane, fed by a channelized right turn from eastbound Merrick Road. There are sidewalks provided on both sides of Merrick Road and Wantagh Avenue. |
