Houston Street and Avenue A

Locations M043, M044, M045, M046, and M047 are along Houston Street and Broadway, 2nd Avenue, 1st Avenue, Avenue A, and Avenue D, respectively. Figures M04-046-1 through -6 show Houston Street and Avenue A. Houston Street runs east-west with three through lanes in each direction. Every study location is controlled by a traffic signal. All intersecting streets are multi-lane roads with a sidewalk on both sides. There is a bike lane on 2nd Avenue that ends 100 feet north of Houston Street. There is also a bike lane on both sides of Allen Street south of Houston Street as shown in Figures M04-45-2 and -3. This bike lane does not continue to 1st Avenue north of Houston Street. |
