Highway Networks

Most of the data used to define the highway network was drawn from existing sources such as networks developed for previous studies, including:

Interim Analysis Method (IAM) TRANPLAN network for New York counties.

LongIsland Transporation Planning (LITP) 2000.

ConnDOT highway network for Connecticut counties other than Fairfield.
4
NJDOT Tranplan network for New Jersey counties.

BPM Highway network is a very large network consisting of 52,794 links in 28 counties in NY, NJ and CT. and covers all NY Metro Area. The Highway network contains:

4950 high-level facilities

26,385 Arterials

10,694 centroid and external connectors
4
10,765 other

The Base Network contains some attributes that reflect four different time periods:

AM peak (6-10AM),
2
Midday (10AM-3 PM),
3
PM peak (3-7PM),
4
Night (7PM-6AM).
