Vehicle Classification and Occupancy Survey

The Vehicle Classification and Occupancy report for 2006 provides a detailed analysis of vehicle types and occupancy rates for those crossing into and out of the Manhattan Central Business District over the course of a business day in Spring, 2006. Vehicles are classified into 13 categories by hour, allowing the reader to observe the relative frequency of different vehicle types throughout the city at various times of the day. Occupancy rates were counted at these same locations, providing a close look at the state of ride-sharing and carpooling in the CBD. This original data is coupled with analysis, graphs and summary tables to provide an additional indication of transportation trends in the region. This survey report is conducted every 5 years
