The September 11th Memorial Program was announced on November 18, 2004 during ceremonies to commemorate NYMTC’s return to lower Manhattan. The first academic initiative began January 28, 2005, and awards were announced later that year. The planning initiative launched on February 22, 2005, and four planning projects have been awarded to date.
The academic initiative follows a school year timeframe, and the third year selections for 2007-2008 were recently awarded. The solicitation for the planning initiative doesn’t follow a similar schedule. Check this web page regularly for updates on upcoming deadlines for the next round of awards for both the planning and academic initiatives.
